There is something about this story that holds you between reality & myth. Good piece, good read.
The girls are very animated as the story progresses. They are huddled as close as can be, covering themselves with pillows and blankets. They shield their faces in terror as Rama lays dead. Screams can be heard echoing throughout the halls as they shriek in horror and in excitement. By now they are completely invested, their faces show excitement, fear and a longing for eternal love and happiness.
The princess is locked in the tower of a castle, staring longingly out the window, awaiting the arrival of Rama. Back in the woods, a gazelle approaches the resting Rama as the smoke from the arrows begins to lift. He lay down to give his life. Rama awakes, still adorned with elaborate Indian jewels, covered in luxurious fabrics and blue paint. He runs. He runs to free his longing princess from the castle.
