the Difference shows through

Alice DaU Artistry

she always knew she was different It IS the reason she respected herself but they laughed and ridiculed her anywayDifferent

They talked behind her back
She was different, ya know

It seemed so natural
to attack, attack, attack

She wasn’t white
with thin stretched arms
She was colored and that
In itself, would be a fight

Subjected to ridicule her whole life
She just wanted to be, to live
A life without strife.

She bloomed in her own way
Trying to grow into her petals
Telling a story, only she could say
